Vaughn returned to the director's chair earlier this year with Kingsman: The Secret Service - which remains one of my favourite movies of 2015 so far.

The movie was both a critical smash as well as a box office hit and there has been talk of a sequel ever since... it looks like we are going to get what we asked for.

While there is no word on whether Vaughn will actually direct the movie himself, he is currently penning the screenplay.

Speaking to Yahoo!UK, the director said: "The good news is I'm writing it next door at the moment, and if I think I can get the script good enough, then we'll make it. Stay tuned, but we're doing our damndest to make that happen."

Kingsman: The Secret Service saw Colin Firth star alongside Samuel L Jackson, Mark Strong, Michael Caine, and newcomer Taron Egerton.

The movie went on to gross over $400 million at the global box office and is, so far, the fifth highest grossing film of 2015 behind Fast & Furious 7, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Fifty Shades of Grey, and Cinderella.

There is currently no word as to when a sequel could go into production, the plot, or which characters/actors could possibly be returning.
