“Cotton-Tail represents the sort of, loose cannon. She is a little bit mental. She’s awesome.” Those are the words of Daisy Ridley, who’s stepping in to voice the mentioned character of Cotton-Tail in the upcoming Peter Rabbit movie, where James Corden takes on the titular role. You can find out a little bit more about what to expect from Ridley’s character in the short clip below:

As the sister to Margot Robbie’s Mopsy and Elizabeth Debicki’s Flopsy, Cotton-Tail looks like she could be at the centre of the action and chaos in Peter Rabbit, unafraid to get her hands dirty.

Directed by Will Gluck, the film will tell the story of the titular hero as his feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) goes to higher levels than ever before. Each hope to gain control of the coveted vegetable garden, but are also battling it out for the affections of the beautiful animal lover who lives next door (Rose Byrne).

Their confrontations take them to the Lake District and London, in an adventure that looks like it could be one of the most epic Peter Rabbit and his friends have ever embarked on.

Still, it’s going to take some convincing for those who have been fans of Beatrix Potter’s most famous character for many years. The film’s first trailer was met with quite a vocal backlash from Potter fans, though one that came later was given a little more room to breathe. When the time for release comes, it’s going to be very interesting to see on which side the chips fall. If the film’s a success, we see no reason why a series wouldn’t be created, and this new version of Peter Rabbit would likely return for many years and new movies to come.

Peter Rabbit comes to cinemas across the UK on March 16, 2018.
