Melissa McCarthy is front-and-centre in the brand new poster for upcoming comedy flick Life Of The Party, which also stars the likes of Gillian Jacobs, Maya Rudolph, Molly Gordon, Stephen Root, Jackie Weaver, Jessie Ennis, Adria Arjona, Debby Ryan and Jimmy O. From New Line Cinemas, the film follows long-time dedicated housewife Deanna (McCarthy) after a sudden split from her husband. Turning the tragic turn of events into a complete life reset, Deanna decides to go back to college, landing in the same school and classes as her daughter, who of course isn’t up for the idea of sharing some of her most memorable years with her mother.
Rebranding herself as ‘Dee Rock’, the outspoken parent does her all to delve into all aspects of student life, enjoying the fun and freedom of being in the world of higher education and showing the frat boys something like none of their predecessors have ever seen.
McCarthy co-wrote the film’s screenplay with the movie’s director Ben Falcone, and the pair have produced through their production company On The Day. Chris Henchy also serves as producer with Toby Emmerich, Richard Brener, Michael Disco and David Siegel as executive producers.
A creative behind-the-scenes team is made up of director of photography Julio Macat, production designer Rusty Smith, editor Brian Olds and costume designer Louise Mingenbach, with fil Eisler providing the music.
McCarthy is of course renowned for her incomparable performances in a variety of comedy films, such as her iconic take on the character Megan in Bridesmaids, and her role as a straight-talking cop in The Heat. More recently, she’s even made headlines tackling former White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Saturday Night Live, with left-leaning viewers lapping her up.
We can’t wait to see what she brings to this comedy flick.
