Directed by Ben Falcone, who also wrote the screenplay alongside the film’s leading star Melissa McCarthy, comes upcoming comedy flick Life Of The Party. This week, the first official trailer for the movie has been released, which you can now watch below:

Also starring Gillian Jacobs, Maya Rudolph, Julie Bowen, Matt Walsh, Molly Gordon, Stephen Root, Jessie Ennis, Jacki Weaver, Debby Ryan and Jimmy O. Yang, it would be fair to say that Life Of The Party has a cast of comedy A-listers who could make this one of the most exciting releases of the year.

McCarthy stars as Deanna in the film; a long-time dedicated housewife who’s suddenly dumped by her husband, putting into place a series of events that eventually see her resetting the clock and going back to college.

Ending up in the same school and classes as her daughter, who’s not sold on the idea of sharing her younger years with her mother so closely, Deanna is plunged into the true campus experience. Known around the school as Dee Rock, she embraces the freedom, fun and frat boys that come with studying in college, and finds her true self in a senior year that not a single person could have predicted.

Produced through Falcone and McCarthy’s production company On The Day, the film also sees Chris Henchy serve as producer, with Toby Emmerich, Richard Brener, Michael Disco and David Siegal working as executive producers.

McCarthy is of course known for her work in the comedy field, making a name for herself in films such as Bridesmaids and The Heat. Here though, she looks to be taking on potentially her funniest role yet, and if there's anybody who could make a character like this work, it's McCarthy. We can't wait to see what the film has to offer.

Life Of The Party comes to cinemas across the UK on May 11, 2018 from Warner Bros. Pictures.
