Minions

Minions it the first solo movie for the popular characters from the Despicable Me franchise and more success has come their way. The film took over $115 million in its opening weekend to comfortably take the top spot.

So far, Minions has taken in excess of $395 million at the global box office - it is already number one in the UK - and is well on course to be one of the most successful animation movies of the year.

Jurassic World was originally given the top spot at the box office last week, but the film slipped to two when the final number revealed that Inside Out had finally taken the top spot.

There was no move for Jurassic World at two this week, while Inside Out slipped two places from one to three. Inside Out is the latest offering from Pixar and is already being considered the frontrunner for the Best Animated Feature Oscar next year.

Terminator: Genisys was down one at four, while horror movie The Gallows was the second highest new entry as it opened at number five.

Magic Mike XXL dropped out of the top five as it slipped two places from four to number six. Ted 2 was also two this week as it went from five to seven.

Self/Less and Baahubali: The Beginning were new at eight and nine, while Max was this week's biggest faller dropping from six to ten.
