Netflix are continuing on with their high-budget original material this year, with the Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer-fronted movie Like Father part of their release slate. You can check out the brilliant trailer for the flick below:
The film sees Bell take on the role of a young workaholic executive who’s left at the altar on what’s supposed to be the best day of her life. When her father (Grammer) comes to the rescue however, the pair find themselves on the Caribbean honeymoon cruise that was planned ahead of time, together. Though they depart pretty much as strangers, the journey and adventures that come their way see them search their souls to discover whether they’re really getting the best from life, and, in all of that, they find an appreciation for family.
Grammer’s character is somebody the audience learns left his family behind, because he believed they were holding him back from achieving his all in the workplace. This is something that his daughter can relate to, and the pair of overachievers come to realise that they’re more alike than they could have ever imagined, despite not spending their lives to this point together, as is the case with most children and their parents.
Like Father is directed, produced and written by Lauren Miller Rogen, with Seth Rogen and Brittany Ross also a part of the all-star cast.
Like Father will come to Netflix on August 3, 2018.
