The Simpsons have been a fan favourite for decades, following the yellow family as they get into all kinds of mischief and have some rather unruly adventures. Now, they will be crossing paths with Marvel and pay tribute to the franchise’s success with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Disney+ is a widely popular streaming service, providing content from Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, along with documentaries and series such as The Simpsons. The streaming service launched in March just last year (2020), and has become a go-to platform for streaming, especially since it is home to Marvel series WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and now Loki.

New episodes of Loki are streaming every Wednesday on Disney+!

The MCU has been around for over 10 years, kicking things off officially with Iron Man from 2008, starring Robert Downey Jr. As the titular role. Since then, we’ve had some exceptional movies and some stunning storylines, all leading up to the end with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame; based on the popularity of the MCU alone, this animated short will definitely be getting a lot of attention.

The Simpsons was creating by Matt Groening, and was developed by James L. Brooks and Sam Simon and is the longest running primetime scripted show in television history. The show gained significant popularity in 1990, and has become an iconic series beloved by many.

Disney+ exclusive short, The Force Awakens From Its Nap, premiered this year (2021) on May 4th, which is Star Wars day; it was an instant hit as Maggie Simpson, the family’s young baby, took the lead role.

In the upcoming short, which will premiere on July 7th 2021, Marvel character Loki will be seen in yellow form as he is banished from Asgard, only to face The Simpsons and Springfield’s mightiest heroes – could this be Loki’s toughest challenge yet?

The artwork for the Marvel-based short shows Simpsons characters as members of the MCU; Lisa is Thor, Ralph is The Hulk, Millhouse is Hawkeye, and Moe is Vision.

The God of Mischief teams up with bad boy Bart as they take on the wrath of Springfield in this daring and exciting crossover, titled The Good, The Bart, and The Loki.

This crossover promises chaos and laughter, both being iconic traits of both the MCU and the world of The Simpsons; seeing Loki in the land of Springfield is already set to be a fantastic watch so, if you have Disney+, mark July 7th on your calendar!

Tom Hiddleston will of course be voicing the character he has played in the MCU for so many years, and will be seen alongside some fan favourite characters from The Simpsons.
