There's just over a month to go until Halloween makes its way to the big screen, following on from the original film of the same name and ignoring all of the sequels that were spawned after it.

Michael Myers is back!

Michael Myers is back!

Taking place four decades after the events of the first horror flick, fans will see Jamie Lee Curtis return as Laurie Strode, who'll finally get her opportunity to kill Michael Myers 40 years after he first rained terror down on her.

Today (September 5), a fantastic new trailer for the film has been released, which shows that, despite Michael's age, he's still skilled when it comes to killing those who stand in his way. You can check out the teaser below:

Nick Castle returns to the franchise alongside Curtis to play Michael in some of his scenes, with Judy Greer, Will Patton, Andi Matichak and Omar J. Dorsey all also starring.

Malek Akkad produces the movie, whose Transcas International Films has produced the series ever since its debut. Bill Block also produces, whilst horror master John Carpenter serves as an executive producer alongside Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and Jamie Lee Curtis. Green also directs, having written the screenplay with McBride and Jeff Fradley.

Laurie's confrontation with Michael in the new movie is described as her "final" one, so we either have to assume that this return for the franchise is with a single film, or that her character will meet her maker before the credits roll. Whatever the case may be, it's going to be a riveting and incredibly terrifying ride!

Halloween comes to cinemas across the UK on October 19, 2018.
