We are going to be seeing quite a lot of Simon Pegg on the big screen this year and Man Up is one of the movies that we are going to be seeing him star in.

Man Up

Man Up

Man Up sees him return to the comedy genre as he teams up with actress Lake Bell for the first time, while Ben Palmer is in the director's chair.

Man Up really does look like it is going to be a lot of fun as Bell's character unwittingly finds herself on a blind date with Pegg... even though it is her friend who is supposed to be there.

A brand new clip for the film has been revealed and sees Pegg and Bell's characters Jack and Nancy meeting at the train station for the first time:

A great cast has been assembled for Man Up as Pegg and Bell are joined by Ophelia Lovibond, Olivia Williams, Rory Kinnear, Ken Stott, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Stephen Campbell Moore, and Dean-Charles Chapman.

Man Up is only the second feature film of Palmer's directing career and comes four years after he made his debut with The Inbetweeners Movie back in 2001. However, he is no stranger to the director's chair with a string of TV projects under his belt, including The Inbetweeners and Bo' Selecta!

Meet Nancy (Bell): 34, single (still), hung-over (again), and exhausted by the endless futile set ups foisted upon her by well-meaning but clueless friends. As she travels across London to toast another 10 years of her parent's blissfully happy marriage, 40 year old, freshly-hatched divorcee Jack (Pegg) mistakes her for his 24 year old blind date.

In a moment of uncharacteristic optimism (or insanity?), Nancy decides to just go with it... What follows is a chaotic, unconventional, hilarious night neither of them will ever forget. There will be drinking, there will be home truths; there will be an old classmate with a long-standing crush and stalker tendencies.

There will be lost divorce papers, lost hopes, competitive indoor sports and an epic venue-to-venue urban triathlon. Oh, and the small matter of Jack finding out that Nancy isn't actually his real blind date. Man Up is a romantic comedy about being yourself... or perhaps not being yourself. It's about taking chances, making decisions and rolling with the consequences.

Man Up is released 29th May.
