Obsessed by the mystery of what lies ahead for those who enjoy life, five medical students embark on a dangerous experiment in Flatliners, stopping their hearts for short periods of time to trigger near-death experiences and gain first-hand accounts of the afterlife. As the experiments become more dangerous with each experiment, each of those meddling with life and death become haunted by their shady pasts, with the paranormal events from the other side threatening to rule over everybody involved. Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton and Kiersey Clemons play the five medical students, with Niels Arden Oplev serving as director, working on a screenplay by Ben Ripley and story by Peter Filardi. Kiefer Sutherland, Steve Byers, Charlotte McKinney and Beau Mirchoff also star.
