On October 19th, 2021, Disney+ released the trailer for Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which will be available to stream this December (2021); get ready to see Greg in this wonderful animated movie!

Disney+ is an almost two-year-old streaming service that launched on November 12th, 2019 (in the US), and will be celebrating its second birthday in only a few weeks’ time with Disney+ Day, which will be full of amazing content, announcements, sales and more!

The first book in the best-selling series, written by Jeff Kinney, will be coming to Disney+ in the hilarious animated adventure, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The wimp in question is Greg, a skinny kid who has high hopes to become rich and famous; all he has to do is get through middle school.

To make thing even worse than they already are, Greg’s lovable, silly best friend Rowley seems to pass through life with flying colours, no matter what it is he’s doing; which is bound to make anyone just a little jealous!

As details of his hilarious – and often disastrous – attempts to fit in are detailed on the pages of his journal, Greg learns to appreciate real friends, and the satisfaction which comes from standing up for what you believe in.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid will be directed by Swinton Scott (Futurama) and is of course written and produced by Jeff Kinney; the movie features the voices of Brady Noon (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers) as Greg Heffley, Ethan William Childress (mixed-ish) as Rowley Jefferson, and Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley) as Frank Heffley.

The new trailer for Dairy of a Wimpy Kid is a genuinely hilarious introduction to Greg and his hectic middle school life. His almost dry sense of humour, along with his commentary makes him a wonderful main character.

The animation style for the feature is amazing; it has a clean, crisp look to it, and is also a welcoming and exciting way to present Greg and Rowley as they traverse the world of middle school.

It seems that the film is set to not only entertain, but also resonate with kids who watch it, or even adults. School can be tough, but if you have someone to help you through it, you might just make it out to the other side!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid will be on Disney+ from December 3rd, 2021.
