A new trailer has recently been released for forthcoming film, King Richard, which stars Will Smith in the titular role.

Will Smith is a two-time Oscar nominee and very well-known and beloved actor, who has starred in blockbusters such as Bad Boys (1995), Independence Day (1996), I, Robot (2004) and I Am Legend (2007); his latest cinematic venture is sure to hold the attention of audiences as he takes on the role of Richard Williams.

King Richard is set to follow the journey of Richard Williams, the determined and adoring father of two of the most extraordinary gifted athletes of all time; two daughters who would change the face of tennis forever.

The movie is being directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green (Monsters and Men), and will no doubt bring this incredible story to light in a moving and thoughtful way.

Richard, father to Venus and Serena Williams, who are now worldwide stars, is driven by a clear vision of his daughters’ futures, and even takes some unorthodox methods to get his girls to the top.

King Richard follows him as he plans to take his daughters from Compton’s streets to the global stage as legendary and iconic sportswomen.

The movie is set to be a moving and endearing adventure of a father who, despite some unconventional ideas, wants nothing more than to get his kids from what is considered the bottom, all the way to the top.

The upcoming film showcases the power of family, determination, love and belief as the story of how Venus and Serena reached the top is set to inspire audiences in the same way it impacted the world.

The newly released trailer showcases the film’s beautiful atmosphere and cinematography, and sets the scene for an amazing, moving rendition of the true story that inspired the whole world.

We see Smith nail his role as Richard Williams, and see the story of how two of tennis’ best players climbed to the top; if the trailer is anything to go by, the feature film itself will be outstanding.

In addition to Smith, King Richard also stars Jon Bernthal, Tony Goldwyn, Dylan McDermott, Susie Abromeit, Aunjanue Ellis, Noah Bean, Hannah Barefoot, Judith Chapman, Andy Bean, Katrina Begin, with Saniyya Sidney and Demi Singleton.

King Richard will be in cinemas on November 19th, 2021.
