Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett joins Jack Black in upcoming fantasy flick The House with a Clock in Its Walls, starring alongside other big names including Kyle MacLachlan, Colleen Camp, and young actor Owen Vaccaro. This week, a stunning new trailer for the film has been released, showcasing some of the magic and mystery we should expect to see upon the movie’s release. Check it out below:

Vaccaro takes on the role of 10-year-old Lewis in the flick, who goes to live with his uncle (Black) in an old house that has a mysterious tick-tocking clock heart. Underneath the façade of his new sleepy town lies a world rampant with mystical beings and people, including warlocks and witches, and an awakening of the dead.

With the end of the world potentially right around the corner, Lewis will be forced to put his newfound talents to the test alongside his uncle and new friends, tackling the dangers that they have brought to the surface.

Directed by Eli Roth and written by Eric Kripke, The House with a Clock in Its Walls is based on the novel of the same name written by John Bellairs and originally published in 1973, and comes from production company Amblin Entertainment.
