Predator 5 title and plot details unveiled

Story details and an official title have been confirmed for Predator 5, a prequel film set 300 years before the original 1987 feature.

The upcoming movie is said to take place in a time before Europeans colonised America, and will see a fierce Native American Warrior battle the iconic beast. The official title of the film was thought to be Skulls, but it is actually Prey

As it stands, the Predator franchise really went downhill after the original from the 80s, except perhaps Aliens vs Predator, which had mixed reviews, and was still an enjoyable feature. 2018’s The Predator received rather negative reviews, so let’s hope Prey can do this villain justice.

New trailer released for upcoming Ice Age adventure

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild has just released a trailer, and it appears to be a wild journey focusing on the three craziest characters within the franchise: Crash (Seann William Scott), Eddie (Josh Peck) and, of course, Buck (Simon Pegg).

The trailer shows the opossum duo as they head back down to The Lost World, which is inhabited with dinosaurs, where they run into daredevil weasel, Buck. While the original cast will still play a part, it seems the trio of small mammals are at the helm of this adventure.

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild is set to land on Disney+ on January 28th, 2022.

Cheaper by the Dozen reboot planned for 2022

Disney+, the streaming service that celebrated its second anniversary yesterday (November 12th, 2021), has announced that a reboot of Cheaper by the Dozen will be arriving on the platform in March of 2022, starring Zach Braff and Gabrielle Union.

The upcoming film will be the fourth iteration of this plot, with the 2003 version, still titled Cheaper by the Dozen, being more well-known to today’s audiences. The 2022 version is set to follow a multicultural family of 12, starring Braff (Scrubs) and Union (Bring It On) as the parents.

Enchanted sequel’s logo has been revealed

The logo for the sequel to 2007’s Enchanted has been revealed as part of this year's Disney+ Day celebrations. The movie will be titled Disenchantment, and is set to release in autumn next year (2022).

Enchanted followed Giselle (Amy Adams), a cartoon character who is thrown into the real world. Once there, she begins to adore regular human life; she also falls in love with a charming man named Robert (Patrick Dempsey).

Disenchanted will follow Giselle around 15 years after the original film, however she feels at odds with her suburban life, and makes a wish for her family’s life to be the perfect fairytale; but this backfires and causes Giselle to enter into a race against time to save those she loves.

Ben Stiller and Cate Blanchett team up for reboot

Cate Blanchett (The Lord of the Rings franchise, Thor: Ragnarok) and Ben Stiller (Happy Gilmore, Night at the Museum franchise) are set to star together in an upcoming movie based on old ITV drama, The Champions

The Champions was an espionage series that ran in the 1960s in the UK. The show followed three UN agents who crash in the Himalayas and are saved by an advanced civilisation from Tibet. The agents are bestowed with superhuman intellect and powers by the community, and return to the world as very different people.

The film is yet to start production, but with Blanchett and Stiller joining forces, this movie already has a very high point of interest.

Gal Gadot’s Cleopatra film has a finished script

Gal Gadot has confirmed that her Cleopatra film she is working on with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is in development, and has “an amazing script”.

In October, 2020, the announcement came that Gadot and Jenkins would be working together once again on a movie centred on Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt. The film is written by Laeta Kalogridis, and will be directed by Jenkins and produced by Gadot’s production company, Pilot Wave Motion Pictures.

While there hasn’t been an update on the feature for a few months now, Gadot is persistent in the fact that production is indeed underway.

A reboot of Road House is reportedly underway

Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain, Spider-Man: Far From Home) is in talks to lead a reboot of 1989 action movie, Road House, previously starring the late Patrick Swayze.

The 80s feature wasn’t exactly popular with critics upon release, however audience members appeared to love the film, stating it to be one of Swayze’s best.

Doug Liman, known for directing The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow, is in talks to direct the upcoming reboot. Gyllenhaal will too be involved in the feature, but it is unclear if he will play original hero Dalton, or a brand new character.

Further details regarding the Road House reboot should become available soon, so keep an eye out!
