Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde has described Ron Howard as an 'incredibly collaborative filmmaker'.

The actress has teamed up with Howard for the first time as they have brought Rush to the big screen; a Formula 1 movie that follows the rivalry between drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda.

And Wilde reveals that she had a great time working on Howard's set because he trusts actors.

Speaking to Flicks & Bits the actress said: "Ron is incredibly collaborative. He trusts his actors and crew, hiring the right people for their parts in the machine and then he lets it roll.

"That’s why there are all these lightning-in-a-bottle moments that make his films so effective.

"He understands both the emotional and technical side of acting, marrying those two challenges to bring a character to life and get it into the film appropriately."

Wilde will take on the role of Suzy Miller in the movie, the eventual wife of James Hunt, while Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Bruhl and Natalie Dormer are all also on board.

It has been a busy year for Wilde as she has also completed work on Drinking Buddies, Better Living Through Chemistry, Her and Third Person.

Rush is released 13th September.
