Rudd is set to reprise the role of Scott Lang aka Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War later this year and a second Ant-Man movie is already in the pipeline.

And Rudd reveals that he has been able to plan out his film projects around his Marvel work and the studio has been 'supportive' during that process.

Speaking with Superhero Hype, the actor said: "It's been very easy. Marvel's been great, as far as if I have something else and they'll work around it. It's not like I'm working on a series which might be a little trickier as far as schedule.

"I worked on 'Civil War' and I didn't really work on it for very long, but as far as 'Ant-Man 2,' I already know when that's going to go, so you just kind of plan accordingly. If anything comes along that I can film before or after and it works out time-wise and it makes sense, Marvel's been supportive."

Ant-Man and the Wasp is already scheduled for a 2018 release and will see Rudd reunite with Evangeline Lilly, will take on the role of The Wasp for the first time. The movie will also see Peyton Reed back in the director's chair.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will be the second Marvel film for Reed, after making his debut with Ant-Man last year. The movie was a box office success and went on to gross over $500 million worldwide.

Rudd is one of a huge list of names that will appear in Civil War later this year, but it is not yet clear how and where he will fit into the story.

Away from Marvel, Rudd has been at the Sundance Film Festival promoting his latest film The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving. The movie is an adaptation of the novel by Jonathan Evison and sees Rudd team up with director and writer Rob Burnett.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is released 6th July 2018 in the U.S. - a UK released date has not yet been announced.

Captain America: Civil War is released 29th April.
