Penelope Cruz is set to return to the big screen this summer as she leads the cast in the upcoming Ma Ma.

Ma Ma sees Cruz take on the central role of Magda in what is her first major leading role in quite some time - it is great to see her back and getting stuck into a great new drama.
The film marks the return of Julio Medem to the director's chair for his first feature since Room in Rome back in 2010. The director has also shown off his writing skills having penned the screenplay.

Luis Tosar takes on a central role alongside Cruz and they are joined on the cast list by Asier Etxeandia, Teo Planell, Àlex Brendemühl, and Silvia Abascal.
The movie follows Magda, a young woman recently diagnosed with cancer who forms an unexpected bond with a soccer scout (Tosar) whose wife has been gravely injured in a car accident.
Ma Ma is a wondrously imaginative melodrama about life, death, romance, and motherhood.
Ma Ma is released 24th June.
