Ricki and the Flash First Trailer

Meryl Streep is set to return to the big screen this summer as a rocker in Ricki and the Flash... and the first trailer for the film has arrived.

I have to say, Streep looks and sounds fantastic in this new film and I really cannot wait to see her in action in a film that looks set to be packed with terrific musical moments.

Ricki and the Flash sees Jonathan Demme back in the director's chair, while Diablo Cody has penned the screenplay for the film. Cody has penned screenplays for Juno and Young Adult during her career and it is great to see her back on writing duties.

The first trailer for the film has arrived and we have it for you to take a look at:

Demme has been behind films such as The Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, and Rachel Getting Married and this is his first film since A Master Builder back in 2013.

Streep takes on the central role of Ricki and she is joined on the big screen by Sebastian Stan, Kevin Kline, Mamie Gummer, Ben Platt, and Audra McDonald.

In an original and electrifying film loaded with live musical performances, Streep stars as Ricki Rendazzo, a guitar heroine who made a world of mistakes as she followed her dreams of rock-and-roll stardom. Returning home, Ricki gets a shot at redemption and a chance to make things right as she faces the music with her family.
