Rosamund Pike has praised Simon Pegg for being such a "supportive" co-star.

The British actress had a blast filming 'The World's End' with the actor-and-writer and says they bonded after shooting two consecutive films together, with comedy 'Hector and the Search for Happiness' due out next year.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, Rosamund said: "I've had a lot of experience because I've just done another film with him. We get on incredibly well. I love working with him, he's very warm, he's very supportive, he's very, very funny - I love him."

The 34-year-old blonde beauty says the prospect of working with Pegg, Nick Frost and director Edgar Wright was what attracted her to the film about a gang of old school friends trying to recreate a failed pub crawl, and she confessed she is jealous of the long-time collaborators' comic timing.

She explained: "I'm a huge fan of 'Shaun of the Dead', they're very clever at what they do. The jokes in ['The World's End'] are just unbelievable. I remember reading the script for the first time when it wasn't even green lit and it just makes me so envious because I could never write something that good.

"Working on a British comedy is a different vibe, it's less actor-ly in a way. You've got fewer actors taking themselves way too seriously!"

As Pegg has become tee-total in recent years and Frost confessed to cutting down on booze, Pike reckons she could drink the cast under the table if it came to a real pub crawl.

She quipped: "I'm pretty good - I go to the end, I last the course! I drink quite a few people under the table. I might surprise you."
