Sandra Bullock says she was worried that Gravity showed off too much of her bum.

Bullock has landed an Best Actress Oscar nomination for her central performance in the science fiction film, as she teamed up with director Alfonso Cuaron.

But the Oscar winner reveals that she worked hard to get into the best shape possible for the film.

Speaking to The Sun, the actress said: "I worked out hard for this movie, I had to because there is a lot of me on show.

"I had a few arguments about the scenes where I'm basically in my underwear with pants that don't even cover my bottom!

"I'm flying away from the camera so my butt is in people's faces a lot. I mean, why is that necessary?"

Gravity is the first time that Bullock has worked with Cuaron, in a film that has been both a critical and commercial hit.

So far, Gravity has grossed in excess of $698 million at the global box office, and has picked up ten Oscar nominations.

Bullock was recognised for her central performance, while Cuaron has been nominated for Best Director, and the film is in the run for Best Picture.
