Saoirse Ronan believes that Ryan Gosling will be an experimental director.

The actress is set to team up with Gosling for How To Catch A Monster, which marks the directorial debut of Gosling.

Ronan has already been impressed with the script that the Oscar nominated actor has written and admits that she is looking forward to working with him.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter the actress said: "I think it's going to be very experimental.

"I think Ryan is going to be very supportive as a director, just because he's an actor as well and he gets it.

"From what he's been telling me about the approach he wants to take, he wants us to really discover these characters ourselves and use our imaginations to create these characters."

"He's already written great characters on the page, but he wants us to develop those even more as people. I like that he's put so much trust in his actors to do that. I think it'll be really fun and really cool."

Ronan will be joined by Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes and British actor Matt Smith on what is rapidly becoming a very impressive cast list.

But we will be seeing Ronan back on the big screen at the end of March as she leads the cast in The Host.
