Sing from 2016 became an instant hit upon release; it highlighted themes of hope, love and determination and had a brilliant, all-star cast.

January 2022 will see the sequel, Sing 2, hit cinemas, and audiences will be able to see the iconic cast and their incredible characters face an even bigger battle than before.

The start of next year (2022) will play host to the next chapter in Illumination’s popular animated movie, in which eager and optimistic koala, Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) and his team of talented performers prepare for their most dazzling and pressuring performance yet.

There is, however, only one problem: Buster and his friends must convince the world’s most reclusive rock star, voiced by musical legend Bono in his animated movie debut, to join them.

Buster has managed to make the New Moon Theatre into a local hit, but ever the optimist, Buster has his eyes on a much bigger prize: debuting a new show at the luxurious Crystal Tower in stunning Redshore City.

However, Buster has no connections, so he and his team, which includes mother pig Rosita (Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon), rocker porcupine Ash (Scarlett Johansson), earnest gorilla Johnny (Taron Egerton), shy elephant Meena (Tori Kelly) and, of course, porcine performer Gunter (Nick Kroll), must sneak their way into the world-famous Crystal Entertainment offices, run by ruthless mogul wolf Jimmy Crystal (Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale).

Gunter’s idea to include Clay Calloway in the team’s performances provides an incredible challenge for them all, but it also paves the way for amazing adventures, blunders, successes and so much more as the characters we loved from the first movie become even better versions of themselves.

The second trailer for Sing 2 shows more of the performances than the first trailer, with Calloway edging into the spotlight. The trailer is a beautiful, emotional clip of Buster’s team working harder than ever before to perfect the performances of their lives.

Additional new characters include music superstar Pharrell Williams, Black Panther’s Letitia Wright and comedians Eric Andre and Chelsea Peretti.

Sing 2 will be in cinemas on January 28th, 2022.
