The Force Awakens has now moved up to second on the UK box office all-time list and is just behind Skyfall; it looks set to leapfrog the Bond film and become the most successful film in the UK of all time.

No other film got close to toppling The Force Awakens from the top spot but comedy Daddy's Home did jump one spot to number two.

This is the second week on release for Daddy's Home and sees Mark Wahlberg reunite with funnyman Will Ferrell; they first teamed up for The Other Guys.

Jennifer Lawrence returned to the big screen on New Year's Day with her latest film Joy, which was this week's highest new entry at number three.

The Danish Girl - which sees Eddie Redmayne set to be nominated all of the major awards ceremonies for the second year running - was right behind as it opened at number four.

Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie slipped three places to round off the top five. The Good Dinosaur slipped out of the top five this week as the Pixar movie fell a single place to number six.

In The Heart of the Sea was another three place faller as the Chris Hemsworth film dropped from four to this week's number seven. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 and Spectre both dropped one as they ended the weekend at eight and nine respectfully.

Branagh Theatre Live: The Winter's Tale rounded off the top ten at number ten and has performed well at the box office in recent weeks.
