The true inside story of the Iranian Embassy siege is headed to the big screen later this year with 6 Days, starring Jamie Bell, Mark Strong and Abbie Cornish in leading roles. Chronicling the events that took place in London in 1980, the country stopped still to watch an intense six-day standoff between British security forces and armed militants, with a brutal assault the result of the negotiations. Check out the first trailer for the flick below:

Shot on location in London, the film is directed by Toa Fraser and written by acclaimed screenwriter Glenn Standring, who undertook extensive research and interviews with various individuals involved in the real-life events that the movie is based on.

Following the perspective of three people largely throughout the film – hostage negotiator Max Vernon (Mark Strong), news reporter Katie Adie (Abbie Cornish) and leader of one of the SAS assault teams, Rusty Firmin (Jamie Bell).
