Suite Française

Suite Française

Suite Française is the third feature film of Dibb's career, and comes after the success of Bullet Boy and The Duchess. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Irène Némirovsky and is set in France in the early days of German occupation.

Michelle Williams and Matthias Schoenaerts take on the leading roles of Lucile Angellier, and Bruno von Falk, a French woman and German soldier who are thrown together during the occupation.

Williams and Schoenaerts deliver two terrific performances and make a great film partnership and they feature in this brand new clip:

Dibb has assembled a great cast for the film, as Williams and Schoenaerts are joined by Kristen Scott Thomas, Margot Robbie, Ruth Wilson, and Sam Riley are just some of the other names on board.

Set during the German occupation of France in the 1940's, Suite Française tells the story of Lucille Angellier (Williams) as she awaits news from her husband, a prisoner of war.

As Parisian refugees pour into their small town, soon followed by a regiment of German soldiers who take up residence in the villagers' homes, Lucile's life is turned upside down - further complicated by the arrival of refined German officer, Bruno (Schoenaerts). Soon, a powerful love draws them together and traps them in the tragedy of war.

Suite Française is out now.
