The headline of this article isn’t something I thought I’d ever be writing, but this week, those who have been working on The Emoji Movie are inviting fans to meet Poop, played by none other than Sir Patrick Stewart! Check out a brilliant featurette and image of the character and actor below:

In The Emoji Movie, viewers will be taken into the world inside a smartphone, where the bustling city of Textopolis plays host to everybody’s favourite emojis. As each emoji hopes to be selected by the phone’s user, each only has a single facial expression, apart from Gene (TJ Miller) who was born without a filter and has multiple expressions. This isn’t a gift he enjoys however, and he hopes to become ‘normal’ like the rest of the emojis around him.

Enlisting the help of his best friend Hi-5 (James Corden) and code breaker emoji Jailbreak (Anna Faris), the three embark on an app-venture through their user’s various apps to find the coding that’ll fix Gene.

A greater threat soon emerges however, distracting the trio from their journey and forcing them to save the world before it can be deleted forever.

With Tony Leondis in the Director’s Chair, working on a screenplay he wrote alongside Eric Siegel and Mike White, The Emoji Movie is produced by Michelle Raimo Kouyate.

The Emoji Movie hits cinemas across the UK on August 4.
