If you're already missing Lena Headey and Iain Glen big time following this week's final episode of Game of Thrones, fear not. The two have teamed up for a new big screen release called The Flood, and it looks like the intense action coming to cinemas will be able to rival that which we saw taking place in the Seven Kingdoms.

Headey takes on the role of "hardened immigration officer" Wendy, who's offered a high-profile asylum case thanks to her record of being able to judge quickly, and clinically reject applicants. This case isn't as easy to crack as those she's had before, however.

She teams up with another officer (Iain Glen) to interrogate Haile (Ivanno Jeremiah), a man who says he's seeking asylum, but who may actually have a more sinister reason for stepping foot in the United Kingdom.

As we flit between the interrogation room and the 5,000 kilometre journey that Haile had to make to reach the UK, we will discover exactly how Haile made it to British shores, and whether or not he really is simply looking for solace and safety.

Set in both France and the UK, at a time when politics are dividing the country more than ever before, filmmakers behind The Flood wanted to highlight the difference between the dangerous journey people are making with the slow response from around the world. Real-life stories, interviews with ex-Home Office officials and more, all played a part in bringing this movie to life.

Director Anthony Woodley, writer Helen Kingston, and producer Luke Healy all spent time volunteering in the Calais Jungle before making the film, and so wanted to make a fictional but truthful piece that showcases the refugee experience.

The Flood comes to cinemas across the UK, and to On Demand, from Friday June 21, with a special event screening on June 17.

World Refugee Day takes place on June 20, highlighting the plight of countless refugees from around the world.
