The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire remains at the top of the U.S. box office for a second week.

Catching Fire took a further $74.5 million to hold off the very strong challenge from Disney's new film Frozen.

The film has now taken over $296.5 million at the U.S. box office alone; the film has stormed through the $500 million mark at the global box office.

Frozen was the highest new entry on the chart this week as the movie grossed over $66.7 million to secure second place.

Frozen is the second Disney film of 2013 as it looks set to follow in the successful footsteps of Wreck It Ralph.

Thor: The Dark World and The Best Man Holiday both fell a single place to finish the weekend at three and four.

Homefront sees Jason Statham return to the big screen and it was a new entry at number five.

Delivery Man was down two places at six, while The Book Thief jumped from sixteen to seven after expending the number of cinemas it is being screened at.

Festive film Black Nativity was new at eight, while Philomena jumped into the top ten from last week's number twenty seven.

The top ten was rounded off by Last Vegas; which was this week's biggest faller as it was down from six to ten.
