After a tragic plane crash on a remote snow-covered mountain, two survivors must forge a connection if they want to survive in upcoming film The Mountain Between Us. This week, a new clip from the movie has been released titled ‘Not Going To Die’ ahead of UK cinema release today (October 6), which you can check out below:

Kate Winslet and Idris Elba star in the film as the two strangers in question, who must battle against the extreme elements of their location if they’re to stand any chance of making it away from the mountain alive. Quickly realising that help isn’t coming, they must traverse hundreds of miles of wilderness, pushing each other to endure and survive before igniting an attraction between each that could blossom into something truly special.

Currently splitting the critics, The Mountain Between Us comes from a screenplay by Chris Weitz and J. Mills Goodloe, based on a novel of the same name by Charles Martin. Hany Abu-Assad sits in the Director’s Chair, with Dermot Mulroney and Beau Bridges also starring.

The film has been through many changes ever since it started development in 2012, with Michael Fassbender first signed up to take on the role that Elba is now sitting in; but not before Charlie Hunnam also came and went from proceedings! Margot Robbie was also going to play Winslet’s role, before dropping out and Rosamund Pike became a frontrunner.

Of course, Elba and Winslet are two of the most sought after stars in Hollywood at the moment, so for those who have worked on the film ever since its initial conception, they likely hit the jackpot.

The Mountain Between Us is available now in cinemas across the UK.
