Universal Pictures has released a third trailer for upcoming psychological thriller, Last Night in Soho, directed by Edgar Wright.

Wright is known for directing The Cornetto Trilogy; three films with similar casts and all lead by the incredibly funny duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The film set includes Shaun of the Dead (2004), Hot Fuzz (2007), and The World’s End (2013); with the latter being the least popular, and the first two being held as icons of comedic gold.

Wright also directed 2017’s Baby Driver, with Ansel Elgort in the lead role. The film’s brilliant soundtrack captivated audiences, and was praised for its stunning choreography and narrative.

However, with most of Wright’s films fitting in the comedy genre, Last Night in Soho heads in another direction; the movie, releasing in just over two weeks’ time from today (October 11th, 2021) is a psychological thriller that will cause you to question what you see...

Anya Taylor-Joy ans Thomasin McKenzie in Last Night in Soho

Last Night in Soho focuses on young Eloise (Thomasin McKenzie), an aspiring fashion designer who, for some strange reason, can enter the 1960s. In that time period, Eloise comes across stunning wannabe singer, Sandie (Anya Taylor-Joy).

Despite all the glitz and glamour the 60s seems to offer Eloise, it isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, as dreams of the past begin to break and crack; nothing it as it seems anymore...

It seems that, while Eloise dreams of Sandie and her exciting lifestyle, she isn’t actually dreaming; rather, she is seeing past events and is desperate to prevent a murder within this elusive period in time.

The third and most recent trailer for this movie creates even more excitement for Last Night in Soho, as the theme of real versus fake appears cleverly done, and McKenzie’s character seems to be perfectly bogged down with the murder of a young woman.

The feature also casts Matt Smith, most well-known for his role as The Doctor in BBC One’s iconic series, Doctor Who. Smith was an excellent Doctor, as his boyish yet serious character was beloved by many.

In Last Night in Soho, Smith’s character, Jack, seems idyllic on the surface, but as the film continues it seems that Jack has more to him than meets the eye, and that something could be rather dangerous...

Last Night in Soho is in cinemas on October 29th, 2021.
