We love Tom Hardy here at FemaleFirst and he is back on the big screen this June in musical London Road - not the type of film that we are use to seeing the actor in.

London Road

London Road

Yes, this is the first time that we have seen Hardy tackle a big screen musical - but London Road is unlike any other musical that we will see hit the big screen this year.

The movie is based on the National Theatre musical of the same name, which in turn was based on interviews that were done in an around the time of a string of murders in Ipswich.

Hardy takes centre stage in this new clip as he talks about the murderer with a passenger in his taxi:

London Road will see Rufus Norris return to the director's chair in what will be only his second feature film - he made his debut back in 2012 with Broken. However, Norris was the director of the stage musical and the film sees him reunite with the play's writer Alecky Blythe.

Hardy is joined on the cast list by Olivia Colman, Kate Fleetwood, Anita Dobson, Clare Burt, and Janet Hanfrey.

As for Hardy, he has already enjoyed box office success this year with Mad Max: Fury Road and he will be back in the autumn with Legend - a movie that will see him play both Ronnie and Reggie Kray.

London Road premieres on 9th June via NT Live and is on general release on 12th June. Visit londonroadfilm.co.uk for more information.
