Wreck it Ralph has become the highest grossing Walt Disney Feature Animation of all time in the UK and Ireland with box office revenues of £23m/$53m after its ninth week of release.

The film, which is still continuing to wow audiences in cinemas across the nation, has overtaken the previous Disney box office champion ‘The Lion King’ which was first released in the UK in 1994.

This Academy Award® nominated heartfelt animated comedy, about a video game ‘bad guy’ named Ralph who tries to become a hero, has received fantastic praise from critics and both adults and kids alike have been enjoying Ralph’s story since its release on February 8th 2013.

‘Wreck-It Ralph’ also opened at number 1 in the US box-office last year taking $49.1million making it the biggest Disney Animation opening of all time in the US ahead of Tangled ($48.8) and all the Studio classics including The Lion King ($40.9).

The film stars the voice talents of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jane Lynch and Jack McBrayer and radio and TV broadcaster Nick Grimshaw has a UK star cameo role in the movie voicing the character ‘Brad’ who features in the Hero’s Duty game world in the film.
