While Dawn of Justice was a huge box office success, the movie was panned critically and struggled to win over audiences.

Because of this backlash to the ton of Dawn of Justice, Snyder - who will be in the director's chair for Justice League - says he has made some changes to the upcoming film.

Speaking to Vulture, the director said: "When Batman v Superman came out, I was like, 'Wow, okay, oof'"

"It did catch me off guard. I have had to, in my mind, make an adjustment. I do think that the tone of Justice League has changed because of what the fans have said."

Filming on Justice League is underway and will see Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, and Amber Heard on the cast list.

Snyder will be back in the director's chair for his third DC Comic movie, following on from Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice in the last couple of years.

This will be the first time that we have seen a Justice League movie hit the big screen and will hit the big screen next year.

Dawn of Justice was released earlier this year and was one of the early blockbuster movies of 2016.

The film grossed over $872 million at the global box office and is currently the fourth highest grossing film of the year, behind Captain America: Civil War, Zootropolis, and The Jungle Book.

Justice League is released 17th November 2017.
