Everyone seems to be taking to the ease of lockdown very well; most are out and about in the sun, some are in local parks with picnics. But not everyone is ready to do all this just yet – if you’re one of those who want to hangout inside that little bit longer, then we’ve got you covered!

Which film will you check out first?

Which film will you check out first?

Here are five films that have brilliant scenes in and around pools! Whether it’s hilarious or downright creepy, these films should more than compensate for the time you want to remain out of the water.

The Inbetweeners Movie

The Inbetweeners Movie may not seem like the thing to get you excited for an outing or even a holiday, but trust us, it will.

Will (Simon Bird), Jay (James Buckley), Simon (Joe Thomas), and Neil (Blake Harrison) all go on a lads holiday after finishing sixth form, and after Simon has been dumped by his dream girl Carly (Emily Head).

The foursome travel to Malia in Greece, and soon meet four lovely girls who want to get to know the boys. While visiting the ladies at their hotel, Jay and Neil walk around looking for women to pick up.

As they wander, a young boy runs up to Jay shouting “Manchester!”, wearing the city’s logo on his football shorts. Jay plays along until the young boy pushes him in the pool, embarrasing him in front of the ladies he was eyeing up.

Jay responds by attempting to chase the child until Neil stops him; if only to throw the kid (who can't swim) in the pool later; a brilliant scene and to be fair, Jay deserved this one.

The Inbetweeners 2

We just had to include the second Inbetweeners movie in our list too; this scene is certainly more embarrassing and quite frankly, really gross.

After Jay sends a long email to his friends containing what are obviously lies about his new life in Australia, the trio of lads still in the UK decide to fly out and meet him.

After finding out that Jay has lied to them about being a famous DJ, to no surprise of Simon and Will and the disappointment of naive Neil, the reunited foursome decide to head to Byron Bay which is situated near a water park.

While at the water park, Will encounters something he never thought he would; a poo to the face.

Neil, stood at the top of the water slide after Will has gone down, lets out a fart that follows through. As Will races Neil’s poo down the slide (no, we’re not making this up), fear sets in.

When Will reaches the bottom and splashes down in the pool beyond, he (for some reason) turns around and is smacked in the face with Neil’s excrement; not the happy summer scene you’d expect, but hilarious nonetheless.

Jennifer’s Body

A horror movie may not be your way to enjoy the upcoming summer, but the scene in Jennifer’s Body will be sure to send a chill up your spine.

Jennifer (Megan Fox) has been possessed; while unknowingly serving as a sacrifice to a boy band, the ritual went awry and now Jennifer needs to eat human flesh to continue looking alive and pretty.

On their way to their school’s dance, Jennifer takes her best friend Anita’s (Amanda Seyfried) ex-boyfriend. They go for a walk through the woods, and Jennifer leads Chip (Johnny Simmons) to an abandoned indoor swimming pool.

As you may expect, things only get creepier from there; Jennifer pulls Chad into the murky water, and hides beneath while Anita tries to save her ex from death as Jennifer waits to jump out and steal him from Anita once again and keep him below the depths for good.

While this scene won’t want to make you head out to your nearest leisure centre, the eerie and disturbing sequence will make you check twice before entering the deep end.

Grown Ups

Grown Ups is an Adam Sandler film pretty much everyone has seen, and there are plenty of scenes to choose from regarding pools.

While Lenny (Sandler) and his friends along with their families enjoy a weekend together after the funeral of the group’s high school basketball coach, the large gathering of people all decide to go to a water park.

The fathers, including Eric (Kevin James), Kurt (Chris Rock), and Rob (Rob Schneider) take it upon themselves to pee in the kid’s pool – if only to embarrass their little ones and cause a fuss.

Each dad takes a whizz and the water turns a deep blue, causing the children in the paddling pool to scream in terror; it’s pretty funny as the unconcerned looks on their faces add to the poor kid’s panic.

Mrs. Doubtfire

An old movie with a stellar cast and a lot of heart, Mrs. Doubtfire follows Daniel (Robin Williams) in his odd attempt to stay in his kids’ lives after his divorce takes some very funny turns.

Dressed up in his maid disguise (in which he uses to work as a helper in the very home he once lived in), Daniel goes to a water park/resort with his ex-wife and kids – and his ex’s new boyfriend, Stuart (Pierce Brosnan).

Once at this resort, Daniel’s family play in the pool and enjoy the cool water and warm sun. While Daniel, in disguise as his alias Mrs. Doubtfire, sits at the bar and watches his family enjoy the day, Stuart comes to the bar and orders some drinks; casually badmouthing Daniel to his friend in the process.

Hearing this, Mrs. Doubtfire throws a piece of fruit right at Stuarts’s head, explaining that it was a “run by fruiting!” – an odd line that hits just right and is downright hilarious.
