Nebraska

Nebraska

Alexander Payne is set to return to the director's chair for his highly anticipated new movie Nebraska.

Nebraska premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, and since then it has been setting the festival circuit alight and winning over the critics.

The brand new trailer for the movie has been released, and we are excited to share it with you:

Payne has been behind some great movies in recent years with he likes of Sideways and About Schmidt under his belt.

Nebraska will mark his first feature film such the huge critical success that he enjoyed with The Descendants back at the beginning of 2012.

Bruce Dern leads and all star cast, and his central performance has already seen him pick up a major gong at the Cannes Film Festival.

Dern is already being tipped as a possible Oscar contender; the movie itself could also be a major awards played.

Will Forte, June Squibb, Stacy Keach and Bob Odenkirk join Dern on the cast list.

Stubborn, taciturn Woody (Dern) believes he’s got one last shot at mattering: a notice that he’s the lucky winner of a million-dollar sweepstakes.

To claim his fortune, Woody insists he must quickly get to the sweepstakes company’s office in Nebraska - a 750-mile journey that seems unlikely given that he can barely shuffle down the road a few blocks, at least not without stopping for a drink.

Worried for his father’s state of mind, it falls to Woody’s reluctant, baffled son David (Will Forte) to accompany him on a trip that seems hilariously futile on the surface.

When Woody and David make a pit-stop in their hometown of Hawthorne - with the Grant’s tart-tongued matriarch (June Squibb) and anchor-man son (Bob Odenkirk) joining them - word of Woody’s fortune makes him a returning hero, while also opening a view into the unseen lives of David’s parents and a past more alive than he ever imagined.

Nebraska is released 6th December.
