Raya and the Last Dragon – March 5th

Releasing today, Raya and the Last Dragon is a film about honour and a battle for peace.

Hundreds of years ago, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. That is, until monsters known as the Dunn threaten this way of life – the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity.

Now, those same monsters have returned, and Raya (Kelly Marie Tran) must track down the last dragon and fight to stop the Dunn for good.

This movie seems to be one of those films where a young warrior braves it in order to save those she loves – and it is a brilliant plot. The visuals look stunning, but who would expect any less from a Disney film?

Raya and the Last Dragon is available now on Disney+, however it will cost extra for you to watch it.

Coming 2 America – March 5th

Another film being released today, a whopping 33 years after the original film. Eddie Murphy is back, but not as a Prince. Here, he’s the newly-crowned King Akeem.

The movie sees Akeem and his confidante Semmi (Arsenio Hall) travel the globe, and ending up right back where it all started – Queens, New York.

Akeem is said to learn about a long-lost son he has in America, who will be the heir to his throne, which is why he returns to the country.

The film appears to be chock-full of laughs and hilarity, which seems about right with Murphy is involved!

Coming 2 America is out now on Amazon Prime.

Cherry – March 12th

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo take on their first film after directing Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, working with Spider-Man actor Tom Holland in the lead role.

Cherry follows Holland as Nico Walker, a disenfranchised young man from Ohio. Walker meets the love of his life, but risks losing her through a series of bad choices and difficult life circumstances.

Walker, after returning from War, seemingly turns to drugs to cope with the stress and PTSD of his army life. This film will for sure be a hard-hitting and emotional drama.

The movie seems to be an old-fashioned style film, set to really amp up Holland’s amazing acting ability, and with the Russo brothers directing, the flick is sure to get some attention as soon as it’s released.

Cherry will be released on Apple TV+ on March 12th in the UK.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League – March 18th

Ever since the news came out that Zack Snyder was working on what he wanted to be Justice League back in 2017, people were ecstatic.

Snyder unfortunately had to drop out of the project due to the tragic loss of his daughter. This left Joss Whedon in charge, and it’s safe to say this did not go well.

However, now Snyder has been able to work on his vision for the DC team-up movie. He has been able to reshoot scenes, change the aspect ratio of the film itself, and get everything right for its upcoming release this month.

Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds), the villain of the Whedon version of the movie, is still set to be involved, but this time it seems we will see a much more formidable villain – Darkseid (Ray Porter) – who’s set to make a mighty appearance.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will be on HBO Max on March 18th in the US, but for fans in the UK we’ll likely need to pay for access. Still, we’re promised it will launch on the same day.

Godzilla Vs. Kong – Rumoured for March

We’ve been leading up to this mighty battle for years now, and the answer to the question on everyone’s lips may just be answered: who would win if Godzilla and King Kong went to war?

Kong is now much older and much larger than the last time we saw him in Kong: Skull Island back in 2017 – and he is not in the mood to be chained up.

It seems that due to the titans finally meeting, we will see a battle like never before. However, many fans speculate that the opposing monsters may have to work together at some point, as it is believed that ‘Mecha-Godzilla’ will make an appearance, and threaten them both.

The humans seem tired of titans taking over their planet, so they plan to wipe out every titan – and using the tactic of letting Godzilla and Kong kill each other.

Godzilla Vs. Kong is rumoured to be released on HBO Max in the United States on March 31st. The film might be released on March 26th in the UK. However, due to the current pandemic these dates could change.
