Next Goal Wins

Next Goal Wins

2014 has already been a great year if you are a documentary film fan, and Next Goal Wins is another film that you shouldn't miss.

Mike Brett and Steve Jamison team up for the first time as they both make their directorial debuts with this project.

Brett and Jamieson come from a commercial background, and have now made the leap into feature film.

A brand new trailer for the film has been released, and we have it for you to take a look at:

After suffering a world record 31-0 defeat at the hands of Australia in 2001, American Samoa - officially the worst football team on earth - are still in search of their first ever-competitive win.

When maverick Dutch coach Thomas Rongen arrives on the island to help the team achieve this elusive goal, he discovers that his ramshackle team includes an emotionally scarred goalkeeper and the first transgender player ever to play international football.

They haven’t scored a goal for four years. With the team about to embark on a gruelling World Cup Qualification campaign, Rongen has just one month to transform this ragtag of endemic losers into a winning team - and perhaps learn a little about himself along the way.

Next Goal Wins is a hilarious and moving exploration of what it really means to be a winner in life.

We have seen some great documentaries as Dangerous Acts, The Invisible War, and 20 Feet From Stardom hit the big screen, and this sporting film is set to be a great addition to the genre.

Next Goal Wins is released 9th May.
