Oblivion

Oblivion

Joseph Kosinski is back in the director's chair this week as he bring Oblivion to the big screen.

The movie sees him adapt his own graphic novel into a movie as well as team up with Tom Cruise for the very first time.

If you haven't had chance to check Oblivion out yet then it is truly a visual treat as Kosinski and his team have created a world that is baron and desolate and yet has a beauty and a peace about it.

This video take us behind the scenes of how this world was created:

A vast majority of the film was shot in Iceland using it's volcanic landscape to create a world that has been destroyed by war.

Tom Cruise takes on the role of drone fixer in the film and he admits in this video that he had never had the opportunity to shoot in Iceland during his career.

This video takes you behind the scenes on the first day of shooting in Iceland. The team are filming in a crater that will be turned into a destroyed football stadium.

2013 really is going to be the year of the science fiction movie and Oblivion really does kick things off in fine style.

Kosinski really is an incredibly exciting filmmaker to watch out for as his ability to create worlds and deliver visually fantastic movies is second to none.

Cruise is joined on the cast list by Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough and Morgan Freeman for his first big screen outing of 2013.

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jacks mission is nearly complete.

Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft.

Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands

Oblivion is out now. Check out our Oblivion review.
