Rafe Spall

Rafe Spall

We love Rafe Spall here at FemaleFirst and he is a British actor who is well and truly on the rise.

2012 was a terrific year for him with roles in the likes of Prometheus and Life of Pi and he looks set to build on that over the next twelve months.

And he starts that this week with the release of his new film I Give It A Year, which sees him return to the comedy genre.

Directed by Dan Mazer the film sees Spall team up with Rose Byrne as they play a married couple who are trying to get through the trials and tribulations of the first year of marriage.

I GIve It A Year looks set to be one of the first must see Brit films of the year and kicks off a great year for the romantic comedy genre.

Spall has always seemed to have a knack for comedy after delivering a great turn in One Day and starring in TV series Pete Versus Life.

And he will have some great comic support on the cast list as Anna Faris, Stephen Merchant and Minnie Driver are also set to star.

He sticks with comedy for his next project as he teams up with Daniel Radcliffe for The F Word.

The film is based on the play by T.J. Dawe and has been adapted for the big screen by Elan Mastai and will be directed by Michael Dowse.

Dowse has so far made a directing career in comedy with the likes of Goon and Take Me Home Tonight under his belt in recent years.

And as if Spall and Radcliffe on a cast list together wasn't exciting enough the film is also se to star Adam Driver and the wonderful Zoe Kazan.

The movie follows a man and a woman whose friendship becomes difficult after they develop romantic feelings for each other.

As well as getting on the campaign trail for these two films Spall will also begin work on a couple of other movies.

He is set to appear in Son of the South and Kill Your Friends, the latter being a big screen adaptation of the novel by John Niven and directed by Owen Harris.

Rafe Spall is a wonderfully talented actor who has an incredibly bright future ahead of him - he is an actor to really keep an eye on over the next couple of years.
