It is hard to believe that we will be in January 2016 in only a handful of weeks and there are some terrific films on the horizon... Room is one of them.

Room

Room

Room is a big screen adaptation of the best-selling novel by Emma Donoghue, who has adapted her own book into a screenplay. The movie also marks the return of Lenny Abrahamson to the director's chair.

Abrahamson has brought us films such as Garage and What Richard Did during his career and this is his first feature film since Frank last year.

There's just over a month before Room hits the big screen and the brand new UK trailer for the film has arrived:

Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay take on the central roles of mother and son Ma and Jack and are joined on the cast list by Sean Bridgers, Joan Allen, and William H. Macy.

Larson is one of the most exciting young actresses around and this is her first feature film since comedy Trainwreck. 2016 is set to be a busy year for her as she has also completed work on Free Fire, Wiener-Dog and Basmati Blues.

An intensely powerful and wonderfully life-affirming experience, Room is the new film from acclaimed director, Lenny Abrahamson, based on the best-selling novel from Emma Donoghue. A riveting emotional journey about the power of love, limitless imagination and the strength of the human spirit, Room is an unparalleled celebration of the bond between parent and child.

Ma has created a whole universe in 'Room' for 5 year-old Jack, where they have both lived for Jack's whole life. But when Ma decides they have to escape, she risks everything to give Jack the chance to make a thrilling discovery.

Room is one of the most love and praised novels of recent years and I cannot wait to see how Donoghue has adapted her own work for the big screen.

Room is released 15th January 2016.
