This 2004 film is an American teen comedy which focuses on Cady Heron’s (Lindsay Lohan) life as she moves from Africa to America and realises just how different life is. Not being used to this way of living, Cady struggles with friendships and boys but in the end, she finds true friends.

6. Bride Wars - "Sometimes in life there really are bonds that can never be broken."

A romantic comedy about two best friends who both wind up planning their weddings at the same time. The film follows them on their journey and shows how friendship really is more important than holding grudges.

5. Clueless - "Rollin' with the homies..."

This coming-of-age rom-com follows Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone) as she goes through a journey of self-discovery and realises that money doesn’t always bring happiness. 4. The Princess Diaries - "The Queen is never late. Everyone else is simply early."

Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway) is is considered the underdog at her high school until her grandmother comes to visit. She finds out she’s the heir to the throne of a European kingdom, and thus begins a new life of luxury. Her best friend Lily (Heather Matarazzo) struggles with her bestie's new lifestyle but like friends always do, they pull through it in the end.

3. 10 Things I Hate About You - "Don't let anyone, ever, make you feel like you don't deserve what you want."

As a new student at school, it doesn’t take long for Cameron James (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) to fall under the spell of schoolmate Bianca Stratford (Larisa Oleynik). He tries to win her over by setting her sister up with Patrick (Heath Ledger). Although the story starts of about Cameron and Bianca, the real love story is about her sister Kat (Juia Stiles) and Patrick.

2. John Tucker Must Die - "Chocolate makes everything better."

Three girls and one boy. They’re all unaware they’re dating the same person and when they find out, they team together to get revenge. It’s a great example of girls coming together and forming a friendship. Not so great for John Tucker, though...

1. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower - "Things change and friends leave. Life doesn't stop for anybody."

Charlie (Logan Lerman) makes new friends at school and they all have their own problems, but make sure to stick together. He falls for his friend Sam (Emma Watson), but she’s with someone else. The film follows a dark path about Charlie’s life but it’s such an important story about friendship and making sure you’re there for your friends, always, that we just had to include it on the list.
