Celebrity cameos in film are nothing new. Sometimes, they're incredibly blatant and done simply so that their fanbase is brought to the cinema. Others however, are kept more hidden. They have to be searched for if you're to notice the blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments. It's those cameos that are the most exciting; when you've found them, you feel a sense of accomplishment. Here are seven of the hardest-to-find celeb cameos throughout cinematic history...
7. Sir Richard Branson - Casino Royale
Producer Barbara Broccoli says that Sir Richard Branson actually earned his way into a Bond cameo, having helped out when those working on the movie needed a plane in Prague. Along with his son, Branson can be seen in an airport in Casino Royale, setting off the security alarm when attempting to pass through and board a flight. Once you've seen it, you'll wonder how you never noticed that signature hairstyle before!
6. Cameron Diaz - Minority Report
Along with cameron Crowe and Paul Thomas Anderson, director Steven Spielberg called on Cameron Diaz to make a guest appearance in Minority Report; and it would appear she took him up on the offer! Crowe can be seen reading a newspaper on the carriage, but right behind him is Diaz, with her ears plugged, probably enjoying some music on the commute!
5. Daniel Craig - Star Wars: The Force Awakens
We won't blame you for missing this one. As a Stormtrooper, Daniel Craig is absolutely unrecognisable. Despite that, it has been confirmed that the James Bond actor is the man under the famous white costume, keeping guard of Rey (Daisy Ridley), until she uses her Jedi mind powers to manipulate the officer into releasing her.
4. Adam Lambert - Bohemian Rhapsody
One of the more recent cameos that managed to slip us by was Adam Lambert's turn in Bohemian Rhapsody. If you thought Mike Myers was hard enough to recognise, then you clearly hadn't heard of Lambert's guest spot. Only on screen for a matter of seconds, you'd have to be the biggest Lambert fan in the world to recognise him after undergoing his Bohemian Rhapsody makeover.
3. Bill Murray - Dumb and Dumber To
As is the case with Daniel Craig's entry a little higher up, you'd be forgiven for not realising Bill Murray was a part of Dumb and Dumber To. In a scene that mocks lead Breaking Bad character Heisenberg, Murray is under a yellow hazmat as the flatmate who splits rent with Harry (Jeff Daniels). The Hunger Games lead Jennifer Lawrence was also set to make a cameo in the movie, but had the ability to veto her appearance once the film was being put together. She decided to do just that, and so fans missed out on seeing her in the final cut.
2. Michael Palin - The Witches
Though there were dozens of women wearing bald caps in that terrifying The Witches scene captured above, there were also a string of men dragged up to look like members of the organisation. Michael Palin was one of those men, and once you've had a look at him (on the right), you'll never be able to watch The Witches in the same way again!
1. Cynthia Nixon - Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Now, for our absolute favourite cameo moment in recent memory! Cynthia Nixon is best known for playing Miranda in Sex and the City, so to discover that she walks right by as Jason Segal's character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall pretends he's within that very TV show; it makes for one of the best cameos of all!
