Among many titles recently revealed by cast members of the first two Spider-Man films (within the Marvel Cinematic Universe), the movie’s real name has now been announced.

Spider-Man 3 will officially be called Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Cast members Zendaya, who plays MJ, Jacob Batalon, who plays Ned, and Tom Holland who of course plays the beloved Peter Parker/Spider-Man, all posted different versions of the new Spider-Man movie title on their Instagram accounts.

Posted by the trio of stars, the fake titles were; Spider-Man: Phone Home, Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker, and Spider-Man: Home Slice.

It seems that these titles relate to other movies, but on the other hand, some fans have come up with the idea that these titles may be hinting at the multiverse theory, believed to be a part of the third Tom Holland-led Spider-Man movie.

Many believe that the Home Slice title is a reference to the 2004 Spider-Man film starring Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, when Peter Parker fails to deliver pizza in time and speaks that famous line, “Its Pizza Time”.

It is also believed that the other two fake titles are a reference or throwback to the other Spider-Man franchises, for example fans think that the Phone Home title could relate to Holland’s version of Spidey as he is always on the phone or texting Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau).

The Home-Wrecker title is thought to be a reference to Garfield’s webbed-hero as he can be seen to be the cause of Gwen Stacy’s (Emma Stone) father dying, and then her demise in the second movie.

This theory of the multiverse is becoming less of an idea and is developing into more of a solid plan, due to the confirmed title for Doctor Strange’s second film; Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Fans are betting all their chips on the idea that this multiverse will bring back both Maguire and Garfield’s portrayals of Spidey. This is a much beloved theory as each person has their personal favourite webbed-wonder, so for all three to be in one film together would be a dream.
