2013 has been the year of the documentary film, and The Class of '92 is another of the movies in this genre that is not to be missed.

Whether you are United fan or not, The Class of '92 is a riveting look at a group of players that defined the club during the nineties.

The film covers the period 1992-1999, culminating in Manchester United’s European Cup triumph, and will dramatically interweave and mirror the highs and lows of its football odyssey with the immense social and cultural changes taking place in Britain at the time.

At the heart of this ambitious film is the tale of how six 14 year-old working class lads from diverse backgrounds came together to play for the same club, became the spine of the most lauded team in world football, and who throughout their period of unparalleled success remained best mates.

This is a superb documentary from start to finish as you really see the bond that still exists between these six fantastic players.

They have grown up together, played together, been through good times and hard times and there is a respect and love between them all that pours onto the screen every time they speak.

The Class of '92 is as much a film about friendship as it is about rising through the ranks of the most famous football club in the world.

The film mixes one on one interviews and group interviews with footage from their youth as well as the biggest games of their careers.

The movie builds up to the biggest night of the players' careers, as they proved that a young team had what it takes to win the European Cup.

There are also some great interview from the likes of Danny Boyle and Tony Blair as they talk about how the times were changing during the nineties in sport, culture, and politics; it really was an exciting time for youth and for Manchester as a city.

The Class of '92 is a fantastic look back at a historic time for Manchester United, and the movie is pushed forward by these six young boys that wanted nothing more than to play for this club. This film is an absolute must for any sports fan.

The Class of '92 is in selected cinemas across the UK from Sunday December 1 and available on DVD from Monday December 2.
