2015 has already been a terrific year for animation movies and the Good Dinosaur is the big film that you cannot miss this autumn.

The Good Dinosaur

The Good Dinosaur marks the return of Pixar and, for the very first time, we will see the studio release two movies in one year - the first being the little known Inside Out.

There's still a good few weeks to go until the film hits the big screen but it is one of the family-friendly movies that I am looking forward to the most as I am just such a big Pixar fan and they really have been on a good run of form of late.

The Good Dinosaur will be the sixteen film from Pixar and will see Peter Sohn take up the director's chair for his first feature film. However, Sohn is no stranger to the world of Pixar, having directed the short film Partly Cloudy and worked in the animation department on The Incredibles and Ratatouille.

Once again, another terrific voice cast has been allowed as Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn, AJ Buckley, Anna Paquin, Sam Elliott, and Frances McDormand are all on board. We are also going to be introduced to the talents of youngster Raymond Ochoa, as he voices the central character of Arlo.

The Good Dinosaur asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct?

Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While travelling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.

It has already been a hugely successful year for Pixar with Inside Out grossing over $700 million at the global box office and it looks like that success with continue with The Good Dinosaur.

There is a very strong chance that the studio could have two movies in the running for Best Animated Feature when the Oscars are announced at the beginning of next year.

The Good Dinosaur is released 27th November.
