The Imitation Game

The Imitation Game

Benedict Cumberbatch has already had a busy 2014 with roles August: Osage County, 12 Years A Slave and another series of Sherlock, but he is set to return this autumn in The Imitation Game.

Cumberbatch is already making waves both sides of the Atlantic, but his star looks set to rocket even further with The Imitation Game.

The Imitation Game sees Cumberbatch star alongside Keira Knightley, Charles Dance, Mark Strong, and Matthew Goode, while Morten Tyldum is in the director's chair.

Tyldum has been behind films such as Buddy and Fallen Angels during his directing career, but this is his first film since the success of Headhunters back in 2011.

The movie follows English mathematician and logician, Alan Turing, as he helps crack the Enigma code during World War II.

I know that we are only in August, but we are already looking ahead to the films that could well be in the hunt for awards at the start of 2015.

The Imitation Game is one of the early films being tipped as a major Oscar contender - you know how much the Academy loves a biopic film.

Cumberbatch is a terrific actor and he is really going to get the chance to show that off with this role.

Is The Imitation Game set to be the movie that really cements Cumberbatch as a big screen star? Is he set for a Best Actor Oscar nomination?

The Imitation Game is a movie that I have been looking forward to for quite some time, and I cannot wait to see Cumberbatch - who is very popular here at FemaleFirst - get his teeth into another major and meaty role.

The Imitation Game is released 14th November
