Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander are two of the most exciting actor around and they are set to join forces in the upcoming film The Light Between Oceans.
The Light Between Oceans is a big screen adaptation of the 2012 novel of the same name by M. L. Stedman, which was her debut novel, and sees Derek Cianfrance back in the director's chair.
Cianfrance is one of the most exciting filmmakers around with Blue Valentine and The Place Beyond the Pines already under his belt; I am excited to see him back. As well as being in the director's chair, Cianfrance has also penned the film's screenplay.
The movie sees both Fassbender and Vikander team up with the filmmaker for the first time and they both star in the terrific new trailer for the movie. Check it out.
Fassbender and Vikander take on the central roles of married couple Tom and Isabel Sherbourne and are joined on the cast list by Rachel Weisz, Anthony Hayes, Caren Pistorius, Benedict Hardie, and Emily Barclay.
On a remote Australian island in the years following World War I, lighthouse keeper Tom Sherbourne (Fassbender) and his wife, Isabel (Vikander), discover a boat washed ashore carrying a dead man and a two-month-old baby.
Rescuing the infant, they make the decision to raise her as their own but the consequences of their choice prove to be devastating.
The Light Between Oceans really is promising to be a powerful and emotional movie and I cannot wait to see Fassbender and Vikander share the screen together.
The Light Between Oceans is released later this year.
