Spike Island
The movie world never really slows down with trailers and clips being released on a daily basis for films that are on the horizon.
This week there have been some great trailers for movies that will be hitting the big screen later this summer as we take a look at Spike Island, After Earth, Pacific Rim and Monsters University.
- Spike Island Trailer
Spike Island is one of the British movies not to miss this summer as Mat Whitecross returns to the director’s chair - he was behind film Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.
While this is not a music biopic this time around this is still a film that has a huge music influence from start to finish.
The film follows an indie band on the rise that is desperate to see their favourite band The Stone Roses play live.
They travel to Spike Island determined to see their heroes in a movie that is about friendship and a love of music.
Spike Island is released 21st June
- After Earth Clip
Will Smith and his son Jaden lit up the big screen when they teamed up for the first time in The Pursuit of Happyness, but now they are back as they play father and son once again in After Earth.
The film sees the Smith’s team up with filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan for the first time as he returns to the director’s chair for the first time since The Last Airbender.
And we have been treated to some fantastic clips from the film this week and this clip sees Kitai (Jaden) come face to face with a creature that inhabits the planet they have crashed on to.
After Earth is released 7th June
- Pacific Rim TV Spot
2013 is all about science fiction and while we have already seen some great movies in this genre there are even more to come.
Pacific Rim is one of those sci-fi films as Guillermo Del Toro is back helming a film for the first time since 2008.
A Del Toro movie is always something to get excited about and Pacific Rim looks like it is going to be one hell of an epic ride as the human race battle back against an alien invasion.
A new TV spot has been released this week that shows it is going to be an action packed ride. A narration from actor Charlie Hunnam also sets the scene of the film.
Pacific Rim is released 12th July.
- Monsters University Final Trailer
No summer is complete without a Pixar movie and in 2013 we will see Mike Wazowski and James Sullivan back in Monsters University.
But the film is a prequel to the 2001 and sees Mike and Sulley long before they became the best friends that we see in the first film.
Monsters University looks set to be as funny and entertaining as the first film and here is the final trailer for the movie.
Monsters University is released 12th July.
