The Counsellor

The Counsellor

If you are a movie fan then it has been a great week as we have been treated to a whole host of fantastic trailers and clips throughout the week.

We have been given a sneak peak to some of the movies that we should be looking forward to this autumn while we have also been treated to a look from some of the films that we should not be missing this summer.

So we take a look at the trailers that you should not have missed this week and give you a chance to see them again.

- The Counsellor

Ridley Scott is back in the director’s chair this autumn as he reunites with actor Michael Fassbinder - the pair worked on Prometheus - for the highly anticipated The Counsellor.

A Ridley Scott movie is always something to get excited about and this is the first film for the director since the success of Prometheus last summer.

Fassbender take on the role of a lawyer who finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking.

Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem make up a very impressive cast list for what is set to be one of the dramas not to miss this autumn.

This is the first of two Fassbender/Pitt projects as they are also going to star together in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years A Slave at the beginning of next year.

- Trap For Cinderella - released 12th July

We have already been treated to a host of fantastic British movies this year and Trap For Cinderella is another to watch out for - and one we are really looking forward to here at FemaleFirst.

The movie sees Iain Softley back in the director’s chair and is a big screen adaptation of the novel by Sebastien Japrisot.

Tuppence Middleton is an actress who is well and truly on the rise and she will lead the cast as she take on the central role of Micky; Aneurin Barnard, Frances de la Tour and Alexandra Roach are also on the cast list.

The film tells the story of two inseparable female friends whose lives are shattered when a fire strikes, killing one of them and leaving the other with horrific, disfiguring burns and total amnesia.

- The Prisoners - released 4th October

Hugh Jackman has already had a busy and very successful year and he will be back on the big screen this autumn with Prisoners - a film that see him team up with the equally talented Jake Gyllenhaal.

Denis Villeneuve is in the director’s chair for the film while Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo and Paul Dano make up a very impressive cast list.

Keller Dover is facing every parent's worst nightmare. His 6-year-old daughter and her young friend are missing, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had been parked on their street.

Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect's release. Knowing his child's life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands.

- Thanks For Sharing - released 13th September

The first trailer for new comedy Thanks For Sharing was released this week and it is a movie that sees Gwyneth Paltrow team up with Mark Ruffalo.

The movie sees Stuart Blumberg make his directorial debut as well as pen the screenplay for the film; Blumberg has penned the screenplay for the likes of The Kids All Right and The Girl Next Door.

The movie follows three people as they undergo a twelve step programme for sex addiction. Tim Robbins and Joely Richardson are also on the cast list while Pink makes her big screen debut.
