Indignation

Lerman has already starred in the likes of Percy Jackson & the Lightning, The Perks of Being A Wallflower and Fury and now he is set to take on the central role of Marcus in this new drama.

Indignation is a big screen adaptation of the book by Philip Roth and sees James Schamus make his feature film directorial debut.

While Schamus has short films such as That Film About Money and The Crouching Tiger Concerto under his belt, he is best known as a producer. As well as making the leap into features for the first time with Indignation, Schamus has also adapted Roth's novel into a screenplay.

The brand new trailer for the film has arrived and we have it for you to take a quick look at:

Indignation offers Lerman another interesting film role as he continues to show his versatility as an actor. He is joined on the cast list by Sarah Gadon, Ben Rosenfield, Tracy Letts, Pico Alexander, and Danny Burstein.

Indignation follows the story of Marcus Messner (Lerman), a whip-smart working-class Jewish boy who moves to Ohio to attend a conservative college, 'Indignation' is a coming-of-age story set in the early 1950s.

Against the backdrop of the Korean War, Marcus explores his first romance on a campus that often clashes with the cultural liberation he desires.

Indignation premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and is set to play at Sundance London later this summer. It is already winning over critics and audiences and is set to be one of the coming of age movies of the year.

Indignation is released on 29th July in U.S. - no official UK release date has yet been announced.
